Tyrese Maxey, fresh off Max Extension with the Philadelphia 76ers, recently spoke to the Takeoff podcast about Paul George’s arrival in the City of Brotherly Love.
“He’s a guy who can fit into any system because of his talent. He’s well over six feet tall. He can shoot, rebound and pass the ball well. He plays on the ball, but also off the ball, with the hand-off, in transition. With a player like that, the sky is the limit!”
“To be on a team with Joel Embiid, who is the best player in the league, you have to be able to play off-ball, but also on hand-offs with him generating space.
“You have to be versatile and I think George is that. I think he can lead the second unit if he needs to, we’ll see… It’s Coach Nurse’s job to decide how to play. I’m just going to go out there and follow his instructions… It’s going to be great.”
Maxey won Most Improved Player and the NBA Sportsmanship Award last season.
