UJAP Quimper’s Young Table Tennis Player Léa Bégat Shines at Lanester Tournament

Last weekend, the promising young table tennis player from UJAP Quimper, Léa Bégat, aged 16, distinguished herself at the Lanester tournament by reaching the final of two doubles draws. On Saturday, teamed up with Simon Manéo in mixed doubles R, the Quimper pair won the tournament. After a difficult start to the competition and the saving of a match shuttle in the group stage, the two players found their rhythms and gained momentum. In the semi-finals and finals, they dominated their opponents, never letting them exceed 10 points per set. This partnership looks promising for the next interclub season. Victory in the final 21/7 21/8 against a pair of young players from FIB (35).

On Sunday, teamed up with Charlotte Guillou, trained at UJAP and currently at BOC Concarneau, Léa Bégat reached the final after a tight match in the semi-final, won 21-18 in the 3rd set. In the final, they found the pair they had failed to beat in the group stage and lost once again narrowly, 21/23 – 18/21 against a FIB/BCK pair.

This tournament is a positive result for Léa Bégat and brings a new victory to the Roses at the end of this dynamic season. The next competition will take place in Concarneau, where a dozen Cornouaillais will try to glean the weekly victory, before closing the season at the Plumes Estivales de Plomeur for the bravest.
