VfB Stuttgart is looking for a promising attacking player and may have found one at FC Copenhagen.
As the “Kicker” reports, the team around head coach Sebastian Hoeneß, who surprisingly led Stuttgart to the runner-up spot in the 2023/24 season, is said to be interested in 19-year-old Emil Höjlund.
The younger brother of Manchester United striker Rasmus Höjlund is under contract with FC Copenhagen, last year’s third-place finisher in the Danish Superliga, until December 2024 and came through the youth ranks there together with his twin brother Oscar.
No replacement for Guirassy
Due to his sporting successes (Danish Cup winner and eight-time U-national player), Emil Höjlund is considered one of the hottest young players in the country and played in 20 games last season (scoring twelve goals and providing three assists).
Even if Höjlund is convincing, the 19-year-old is not expected to be a direct replacement for striker Serhou Guirassy, who, according to recent rumours, could move to Borussia Dortmund.
The Swabians also have their eye on Augsburg’s Ermedin Demirovic, who is likely to be given preference due to his Bundesliga experience, his playing class and his age (26).
