After an unsuccessful serve in the second set, the Russian tennis player started hitting his racket against his knee.

The tennis star revealed that she didn’t hit the racket on the ground because she didn’t want to lose points. “I wouldn’t do that if I could hit the racket on the ground. We’re not allowed to do that,” said Rublev. “I don’t know, at that moment I couldn’t take it anymore, I needed to let my emotions out. Everything is fine.”

It was not the first time that Rublev could not control himself during a tennis match.

Rublev has opposed Russia’s war in Ukraine. After the invasion of the occupying power, he wrote on a TV camera: “No to war, please.” Rublev explained it as an inability to stand aside while something so horrific was happening.
