(AGENPARL) – Wed 07 August 2024 Fires, Savarino: « We will verify the possibility of collaboration with Cufaa »
“I asked the commander of our Forestry Corps Giuseppe Battaglia to start a discussion to verify the possibility of collaboration with the Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food Unit Command (Cufaa) in the prevention and repression of fires in Sicily”. This is what the regional councilor for Territory and Environment Giusi Savarino says. She adds: “Any support from this special Corps of the Carabinieri would go alongside the satellite detection system already active in Sicily, to which the “Control room” will soon be added, the single regional operations room that will benefit from the support of the state-owned company Leonardo, specialized in aerospace technologies. A project financed with funds from the Pon Legalità that will use cutting-edge satellite systems capable of overcoming the critical issues of those currently used throughout the national territory, thanks to the synergy between the President of the Region Renato Schifani and the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi”.
