TRIER. The new date for the cup cracker is Friday, September 13, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. The Gladiators and Skyliners will thus open the German basketball season.
It was the big surprise in the draw for the first round of this year’s BBL Cup: the Gladiators will meet the Skyliners Frankfurt in their home arena. Just a few months after the dramatic semi-final defeat in the playoffs of the BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga, the Mosel city team will now get a unexpected chance for revenge.
Now Frankfurt and Trier will be given a special honor, because the cup match between the two competitors will be brought forward to Friday, September 13, 2024 and will now take place without parallel games as the opening game of the German basketball season.
Advance ticket sales for the BBL Cup match will start shortly, and season ticket holders will enjoy – as with playoff games – a right of first refusal on their seats.
“First of all, we are of course very happy about the draw and the reunion with the Skyliners.
