After a month’s break, Jannik Sinner returns to the tennis stage. His opening opponent at the tournament in Montreal (Canada) is now known.

Jannik Sinner has been warming up recently in the doubles competition at the tournament in Montreal (Canada). Now the world number one is facing his first singles match after a break of almost a month. While the Sextner enjoyed a bye in the first round of the Masters 1000 tournament, he will meet Borna Coric in the second round. The match is expected to take place on Thursday.

The Croatian Coric (ATP 94) had clearly won his first round match against the Spaniard Pedro Martínez Portero (ATP 45) in two sets. Although there are 49 positions between the two players, the result was not necessarily a surprise.

Coric was already number 12 in the world in his career, but in 2021 a shoulder injury put him out of action for almost a year and a half. Now the 27-year-old is trying to get back to his old strength. Jannik Sinner has been warned, but still goes into the duel as the big favorite.
