The La Chorrera City Hall is preparing for the celebration in the month of September of the 169 birthdays of the founding of the district, capital of the province of Western Panama.
One of the first activities to be carried out is the selection of Miss La Chorrera 2024, a title for which they will compete nine girlswhich represent a district town.
Thadanys Espinosa will represent Barrio Balboa, Alanis Huertas For Barrio Colón, El Arado will be represented by Sophia Ortega.
Melanie Garcia by the district of El Coco, Sherlyn Ramirez by Feuillet, Guadeloupe will have its representation in Kaysie Carrera y Kimberly Pardo by Herrera; while Vallys Carrera will do it through Playa Leona and Yineivis Becerra through Puerto Caimito.

Achilles Acevedopresident of the Board of Celebrations and National Anniversaries, said that work is being done to carry out activities cultural, sporting and folkloricall aimed at highlighting the importance of this celebration.
One of the novelties will be the realization of a “cumbiathon” in which all local groups that carry out the activity will participate cumbia chorrerana and highlight new singers; in addition to letting the population know the history of each cumbia beat.
Another of the novelties to be implemented in this month of September is the reveille by the bands of government institutions such as the Distinguished Fire Department.
Acevedo added that work is also being done on the Invitations to school and independent music bands from the country.
