49ers without Christian McCaffrey for preseason
The 49ers will be without their star running back as they prepare for the season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said at a news conference Tuesday that Christian McCaffrey suffered a calf strain. The running back will not play at all in preseason due to his injury and is expected to be out of practice for several weeks.
The 49ers are also practicing without their backup running back. Elijah Mitchell due to a hamstring injury.
