It has been very common in these Paris Olympics 2024 that there is talk about the lack of financial support that some Mexican athletes have had. The latest case is that of Ramon Garridowho said he spent more than five million pesos preparing for the Olympics.

Ramon Garridowon a set in badminton for the first time in history for Mexico at the Paris 2024 Olympics. But this milestone cost her a fortune, which she had to invest out of her own pocket.

“It certainly exceeds the 4/5 million pesos (the investment made). I have already said what I had to say, this is not a direct attack against Ana (Guevara), nor against CONADE, it is simply the reality of Mexican sport. We simply ask that support arrives, that it arrives in a more direct way, and that, if it is going to be through reimbursement, that they pay,” he revealed to ESPN after arriving on Mexican soil.

However, the badminton player did not want to go into details, or make accusations or look for culprits. “If they have already paid the Federation and the Federation is not paying, I do not know. The truth is, I do not want to go into those details. I would ask that a little more research be done on the different sports in Mexico because not all of them can be governed under the same line. We must remember that badminton is not a sport in which we dominate at a world level, but well, it is a very complicated issue, we will see in the following months what will happen,” he added.
