The MVP of the game played on February 4, 2018 confirmed his intentions through a video posted on his X account. The 35-year-old played in the Goodell circuit from 2012 to 2022 and won half of his 58 starts. However, most football fans will remember the 2017 season, during which he took over for center Carson Wentz, whose year was ruined by a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

Foles was a standout in the playoffs, completing 72.6 percent of his passes and connecting with six teammates in the end zone. In the 41-33 win over the New England Patriots, he threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns.

“It’s been an incredible 11-year journey filled with unforgettable moments and great people,” he said. “From being drafted by the Eagles to winning the Super Bowl, every step has been a blessing.” […] I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to retire as a Philadelphia Eagle. The City of Brotherly Love will always be my home as an NFL player.”

Foles’ retirement will be made official on September 16 when the team plays its inaugural home game. Having had two stints with the Eagles, he has also suited up for five other teams, including the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.
