From a German perspective, several medals are possible at the Olympic Games in Paris on Thursday. The men’s hockey team is aiming for its first gold since 2012. In athletics, the prospects for the long jump and javelin are good. In addition, the German-French festival continues in basketball.
The highlights of the Olympic Day
17:30: For the first time, the German basketball players are in the Olympic semifinals. Even legend Dirk Nowitzki is very impressed. The world champions are going into the game as favorites against host France and exceptional talent Victor Wembanyama. If Dennis Schröder’s team pulls off the coup, the US superstars will be waiting in the final.
18:00: The beach duo Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler have a flawless record in the tournament in the stadium under the Eiffel Tower: five games, five wins.
