Paris 2024 Paralympic Games: When will the ceremonies and events take place?

Are you anxious about counting down the days until the end of the Paris Olympics? Rest assured, there will soon be a new dose of sport in the French capital, with the upcoming Paralympic Games shortly after the closing ceremony of the Olympics, scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

Exactly 17 days later, the Paralympic Games will kick off on Wednesday, August 28. Like the Olympic celebrations on the Seine, the opening ceremony will also take place in the heart of the city, this time between the Champs-Elysées and the Concorde. Note that no event will start before this ceremony, while the football and rugby 7s competitions started before the Olympic Games.

The sporting kick-off will be the following day, with the first matches starting at 8:30 a.m. in para badminton on August 29. These Paralympic Games will last 11 days, until a closing ceremony scheduled for Sunday, September 8, after the last wheelchair basketball and marathon events.
