Quindian athletes Nicolás Morales and Sergio Zapata won gold in men’s doubles during the qualifier for the I National Youth Games, Eje Cafetero 2024. The duo, attached to the Quindío Badminton League, demonstrated their power on the court located in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, and secured their ticket to the games that will be held next November.
In addition to the gold in doubles, Morales won the silver medal in men’s singles, demonstrating his great level and consolidating himself as one of the promising players in Colombian badminton.
The qualifier, which brought together 70 athletes from more than nine leagues in the country, was a highly competitive event. Now, Nicolás and Sergio will focus on their preparation for the big goal: winning gold for Quindío at the National Youth Games.
