The US Open will take place from August 25 to September 8, the Laver Cup from September 20 to 22.

Nadal was recently defeated in the singles match at the Olympic Games in Paris by eventual Olympic champion Novak Djokovic. The two had already met in the second round, as Nadal is now only ranked 159th in the world due to his long injury.

No decision yet on retirement

Nadal had also formed a dream doubles team with Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniards were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
