The Turkish U16 Men’s National Team has completed its preparations for the European Championship. The national team, which has completed its preparations for the FIBA U16 Men’s European Championship to be held in Greece between August 9-17, 2024, has set off for the city of Heraklion. The U16 Men’s National Team, which is in Group A in the organization, will face Latvia, Finland and Spain.
Before the tournament, the opinions of U16 Men’s National Team Manager Alper Okumuş, U16 Men’s National Team Head Coach Alper Koç and U16 Men’s National Team Captain Ömer Ege Ziyaettin are as follows:
Alper Okumuş (Under 16 Men’s National Team Manager)
“As part of the preparations for the European Championship, we have completed a long camp process in which we have gained many gains on and off the field, strengthening the team spirit every day.
“The fact that our technical staff and athletes share the same feeling and excitement throughout the tournament; staying together and acting as a team at the point where we will get results will play a key role in reflecting what we want on the field. I believe that we will have a successful tournament by progressing step by step and representing our country in the best way.”

“The Under-16 European Championship is very important for us. As a team, we have full confidence that we will do our best and represent our country in the best way possible. We had a very long and detailed preparation process in the summer. We made good friends and came to a point where we know each other well on the field on our way to becoming a team.
“Throughout the tournament, we will fight until the last ball in every match and do our best to win a medal. Hopefully, we will return to our country with a medal from this tournament. I will also do my part and fight with all my strength and energy for my team and my country.”
