Ukraine’s image war at the Olympics

This is the smallest Ukrainian delegation ever sent to the Olympic Games: just over 140 athletes are wearing the yellow and blue colours in Paris. They are in France while their country has been at war with Russia for over two years. The conflict has killed nearly 500 athletes and coaches, in bombings or on the battlefield. More than 500 sports facilities have also been damaged or destroyed.

Under these conditions, it is difficult to train for the Olympic Games. So why is Ukraine still present in Paris? Could this participation play a role in the war against the Russians?

With our guest:

Florent Parmentier, Secretary General of CEVIPOF (Sciences Po Center for Political Research).
