The Sports and Public Works Council Committees met to discuss some urgent work on the city’s sports facilities. At the center of the debate initiated by presidents Marco Colledanchise and Gianni Occhioni, in fact, were the PalaManchia, the baseball field and the cycling facility. Also present were the Budget Councilor Enrico Daga and representatives of the companies involved.
PalaManchia
With the upcoming expansion works, “Pallacanestro Alghero”, “Futsal Alghero” and “Basket Coral”, newly promoted to Serie C, will be able to work in sync. The goal is to finish the works, which will cost around 100 thousand euros, by the start of their respective sports seasons and no later than September.
Baseball field
The commissioners agreed on the need to adapt the facility in order to allow the “Calana Baseball” club to play in the top division, which it has reached after several decades of activity.
