[유노유농] Ansan TOP brothers Jang Sang-hyuk and Jang Jun-hyuk, united in brotherly love and united through basketball

“I hope both brothers will make many memories at Ansan TOP.”

The Assist For Youth project is being carried out by Assist to develop Korean youth basketball starting in 2022. Ansan TOP Basketball Class, which is working on this project, is attracting attention because it has aspiring basketball players united in brotherly love.

Brothers Sanghyuk Jang and Junhyuk Jang, who started learning basketball at Ansan TOP about two years ago, are sweating basketball together in a close friendship. His older brother, Jang Sang-hyuk, who is currently in the second year of Haesol Middle School, started learning basketball first, and his younger brother, Jang Jun-hyuk (Haesol Elementary School 6), also followed his older brother and started learning basketball.

His younger brother, Jang Jun-hyuk, who seemed to like everything his older brother did, said, “My older brother started learning basketball first, and it seemed so fun that I ended up playing basketball,” and said that his daily life became more enjoyable after he started learning basketball with his older brother.

Jang Sang-hyuk, the older brother who learned basketball himself and took care of his younger brother, said, “I came to Ansan TOP at the recommendation of my mother. At first, I wasn’t very interested in basketball. Then, at my mother’s recommendation, I took a trial class, and from then on, I fell in love with the charm of basketball. “I fell in love and have been learning basketball ever since,” he said, explaining why he first started playing basketball.

Although the two brothers do not play on the same team, their relationship is said to have become closer just by being in Ansan TOP together. For the brothers, who developed a common interest through the medium of basketball, basketball began to have more meaning than a sport. The brothers, who have improved their stamina by learning to play basketball together, are said to be making up for the lack of practice by playing non-stop at home.

The two brothers, whose conversation broadened through basketball to the point where they talked a lot about basketball at home, had a common goal. Since both my older and younger siblings are active in the national team for each grade, they are working hard toward the same goal of winning the national championship.

Older brother Sanghyuk Jang said, “The best thing about playing basketball was when I went to the national tournament with my friends and won. That was an opportunity for me to become closer with my friends,” and added, “I have won other national tournaments, but I have yet to win the KBL tournament.” “I have no experience, but I am training hard with my friends with the goal of winning the KBL tournament next year,” he said, revealing his goal for 2025.

His younger brother, Jang Jun-hyuk, also said, “I am currently on the 6th grade elementary school national team, and I have only won the championship once with my friends. We are such good friends, so my goal is to win the national championship again before the end of the year.” He said he is practicing hard toward his goal in Iran.

Ansan TOP Director Park Jun-hyeong said, “The older brother, Sang-hyuk, started on the national team in the 6th grade of elementary school, and the younger brother, Jun-hyuk, started on the national team in the 5th grade of elementary school, so they started later than others. However, the brothers quickly narrowed the gap with other friends through their passion and effort, and became active in sports. He evaluated the two brothers, saying, “They have good nerves and are very good at performing the exercises given to them.”

He continued, “We are emphasizing a lot of basic skills to the two brothers. There are some parts they follow well and others they do not, but I think they will do well because they are making an effort to catch and correct their shortcomings. Sanghyuk and Junhyuk play basketball. “I sincerely hope that I will continue to work hard and make many happy memories at Ansan TOP,” he said, cheering on brothers Sanghyuk Jang and Junhyuk Jang, who started later than others but are overcoming the gap with sincerity.
