The feedback from participants on site and on social media shows that the club once again managed to organize an attractive tournament. “Only words of praise were heard about the smooth organization, the material prizes in the form of wooden boxes filled to the brim, the well-run festival that always ensured everyone’s physical well-being and the warm atmosphere throughout the entire tournament,” he writes BC St. Margrethen.
To mark this year’s anniversary, the organizers spared no effort and, among other things, had a printed anniversary sports bag ready for all participants, which of course they did not hand over empty.
200 players – and two Widnau podium places
A total of around 200 badminton players from Switzerland and neighboring countries came to Heerbrugg on both days and competed in different categories.
While the licensed teams fought hard for every point in singles on Saturday morning and in doubles and mixed doubles on Sunday, the atmosphere in the Blattackerhalle was much more relaxed on Saturday afternoon. Because at the Grümpel tournament, “Being there is everything” was the motto of many, so fun and sociability were clearly the focus.
From the region, Nicole Projer from Widnau in the women’s singles and Alexander Schicho, also from Widnau, in the men’s singles were happy about a podium finish on Saturday morning.
