2nd Bundesliga: Nuremberg wins 8:3 against Jahn Regensburg – Sport

Five days after the big derby victory, the football professionals of 1. FC Nürnberg around the three-time goalscorer Julian Justvan were once again cheering in front of their fans. Coach Miroslav Klose also jumped a little behind in celebrating the wild and ultimately brilliant 8:3 (3:2) against bottom-placed Jahn Regensburg. With the famous goal spectacle, the “club” continues its climbing tour in the 2nd Bundesliga.

“Today everything was successful. It was incredible. It was important to us that we could confirm the performance from the derby,” said match winner Justvan. Five days after the 4-0 win at neighbors Greuther Fürth, in front of 36,152 spectators in the Max Morlock Stadium, it was the new signing from Hoffenheim who first made it 3-2, then made it 4-3 with a free kick and finally made it 5 with a penalty kick. 3 scored (45th/59th/74th). “You don’t have a day like this very often. It’s good that things are going in at the front,” said Justvan.

The other FCN goals were scored by Stefanos Tzimas (17th minute), Mahir Emreli (23rd), Lukas Schmelzer (80th), Jens Castrop (83rd) and Ondrej Karafiat (90th + 1). “I wouldn’t praise the 8:3 too highly. We get three goals,” commented the good midfielder Castrop. “Offensively it was a nice spectacle,” commented Klose, “but defensively I wasn’t happy.”

The Regensburg team fell apart in the end after coach Joe Enochs’ team recovered from 0-2 and showed great morale. After only one goal in the first nine games of the season, the Jahn fans who traveled with them were even able to celebrate three goals.

After 721 goalless minutes, Eric Hottmann (36th), Christian Viet with a hand penalty (42nd) and finally Kai Pröger scored to make the score 3-3 (49th). But the Nuremberg offensive was too strong for Jahn. The playful Justvan in particular was unstoppable. Jahn professional Alexander Bittroff was completely satisfied. “Very annoying, disappointing, frustrating and demoralizing,” he said of the game and the “very, very bitter” final result.
