According to this newspaper, the 2024 Baoji City “Olympic Glory” Selection Games football competition ended at the Jintai District Unity Sports Park and Douji Middle School. 36 young people from our city became Baoji football reserve forces through the selection meeting.

The 2024 Baoji City “Olympic Glory” Football Selection Games football competition kicked off in early October. A total of 63 teams and 797 football teenagers from 41 traditional sports schools in various counties and districts in our city participated in this selection meeting. This football selection will select outstanding football teenagers through competitions to reserve competitive sports reserve talents for the 18th Provincial National Games. The event is jointly sponsored by the Municipal Sports Bureau and the Municipal Education Bureau. There are six competition groups for boys and girls: Group A (grades 7, 8, and 9), Group B (grades 5 and 6), and Group C (grades below 4). A total of 183 games were played using 8-a-side and 5-a-side competition formats.

Athletes from each group demonstrated their football skills during the five-day competition. In the end, Baoyi Middle School and Sandi Middle School won the championships in the male and female groups A; Mei County Experimental Primary School and Baoping Road Primary School in Jintai District won the championships in the male and female groups B and C. 36 young football players were selected into the reserve echelons of Baoji men’s and women’s football teams through competitions.
