49ers win TNG against Seahawks

Week 6 of this year’s NFL season opened on the night from Thursday to Friday. There was a cracker in the NFC West.

Seattle Seahawks 24:36 San Francisco 49ers

The game got off to a really bad start for Seattle, as Geno Smith had an interception on the first drive. Malik Mustapha won the ball.

San Francisco built an attack over seven minutes, at the end of which Matthew Wright was able to make a field goal from 25 yards. 3-0 49ers.

Seattle’s next attack was quickly stopped. But San Francisco also had to leave the field quickly. The ensuing Seattle attack ended the first and opened the second quarter. But it was a three and out. San Francisco now only needed one play to score a touchdown. Brock Purdy to Deebo Samuel for 76 yards. Touchdown! 10-0 49ers.

And it got even worse from Seattle’s perspective. After the kickoff, returner Laviska Shenault fumbled the ball and San Francisco was able to make it a field goal. Matthew Wright from 41 yards made it 13-0.

On the next attack, Seattle had to leave the field after three attempts. San Francisco, on the other hand, had a long drive lasting seven and a half minutes and made another field goal. Matthew Wright this time from 35 yards. 16-0.

Seattle owned the last attack before halftime and at least there was a field goal. Jason Myers from 20 yards. 16-3 for San Francisco at halftime.

The first attack after the break belonged to San Francisco and they used it to score a touchdown. Brock Purdy to George Kittle for 10 yards. TD. 23:3

A kickoff followed and now Laviska Shenault made up for his mistake from the first half, carrying the ball 97 yards back into the end zone for a touchdown. 23:10.

And the Seahawks defense managed to stop San Francisco quickly. When the offense was actually able to score a touchdown after an attack lasting five and a half minutes, the game suddenly became exciting again. Kenneth Walker had run into the end zone for a yard. Suddenly it was only 23:17.

San Francisco’s next attack ended the third and opened the final quarter, but was unsuccessful. But Seattle’s next attack also yielded nothing. But the defense was able to stop San Francisco relatively quickly again. But on offense, Geno Smith made his second interception. Renardo Green got the ball. And San Francisco punished this mistake. Brock Purdy to George Kittle for 9 yards. However, the attempt to go for two failed. It remained 29:17.

And Seattle hadn’t given up yet, there was a pretty long drive lasting four and a half minutes, at the end of which Geno Smith passed Tyler Lockett for 9 yards for a touchdown. Only 29:24 left.

But San Francisco held its nerve. On the next drive, Isaac Guerendo had a big play with a 74-yard run. This paved the way for Kyle Juszczyk to run the ball into the end zone for 6 yards. Touchdown! 36:24.

Seattle’s last attack yielded nothing.

The loss for the Seahawks can be boiled down to two main reasons. Firstly: The first half was completely missed. Secondly: you allowed yourself too many mistakes. You could also argue that the running game was really not good at 52 yards. Nine penalties are also too many, but I would put that back in the error category. Geno Smith was 30/52, 312 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Tyler Lockett caught four balls for 65 yards.

San Francisco picked up an important win. On the one hand, you could see how much potential this team actually has, but it hasn’t been 100% consistent yet. Brock Purdy had the best game of the season. 18 of 28 for 255 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie Isaac Guerendo had 10 carries for 99 yards. Deebo Samuel caught three balls for 102 yards and a touchdown. Fred Warner had 11 tackles and a fumble forced.

Seattle has to go to Arizona after three defeats in a row and San Francisco has the absolute top game in the new edition of the Super Bowl against Kansas City.
