54 athletes take part in the youth tournament in Eynatten

As in 2023, all East Belgian badminton clubs took part in the tournament. Players from Eynatten, Kelmis, Herbesthal, Eupen and St. Vith were represented. In addition, numerous players from the friendly club from Lierneux also took part this year.

In 2023, the youth tournament was brought back to life for the first time after a long break. The BSV Eynatten received a lot of positive feedback, which was the deciding factor for a new edition this year.

From an East Belgian perspective, some young people were successful. Among the youngest participants, two boys from East Belgium made it into the top 3. Hugo Kalff from Eynatten won against Maxime Kötten from St. Vith in an appealing final in the U11 age category. In the boys U13 category, Moritz Weynand and Felix Hermens from Eynatten made it to the semi-finals. However, after a great fight, both had to admit defeat to their semi-final opponents from Lierneux. Ultimately, Noa Lallemant narrowly won the final against his club colleague Nathan Lambotte (both Lierneux). From St. Vither’s perspective, the girls in the U13 age category were a great success. Aurélie Kötten from St. Vith made it to the final, where she only had to admit defeat in extra time against Doritha Bigoza from Lierneux. Samy Weber from Dynamo Herbesthal made it to the winner’s podium in the boys U15 category. Lierneux was particularly well positioned in this category and was able to take first place (Louis Thiry), second place (Cyril Denne) and fourth place (Louis Lejeune). In the same age category, four East Belgians made it into the top 3. Soraya Krüger (BC Kelmis) won a respectable singles match against her club friend Lina Jonas (also Kelmis). The top three were completed by a shared third place from Neve Gonzalez-Alvarez (Herbesthal) and Norah Krings (Eynatten). Among the oldest participants (age category U17), Yari Müller took second place in the final. Axel Meunier from Lierneux won with an impressive performance. Lierneux was also successful in the final for the girls. Chloé Lejeune won her final against Jasmin Huppertz from St. Vith. Third place was shared by Sarah Willems and Noémie Schommer (both St. Vith).
