BADMINTON. A fan of badminton for four years, David Gaudreault of Dolbeau-Mistassini will represent the Saguenay-Lac-Saint region in doubles badminton alongside Jacob Maltais of Alma at the 52nd Provincial Final of the Quebec Games which will take place in Alma.

“This will be a first participation in the Quebec Games for me and a first with Jacob as we won the gold medal during the regional finals,” comments David who is relishing this participation.

That’s when he was in 6e year that David discovered badminton. “I immediately knew how to perform and stand out, which led me to continue in this sport when I arrived in high school,” explains David, who has been competing for three years now at both the regional and provincial level.

It is with realism that he approaches his participation in the Quebec Games, emphasizing that by mutual agreement the two badminton players affirm that they want to take part in their round by taking the games one at a time.

“We were told that Côte-Nord would be the team to beat, but we told ourselves that we would take our competitors one after the other with the desire to achieve victory and play the best we can,” declared David, indicating that we do not necessarily set a medal objective.

In badminton, David Gaudreault and Jacob Maltais will team up in the doubles while Philippe Côté de Jonquière will represent the region in singles.
