It is on the outskirts of Varenne, surrounded by trees, that dog breeding Varenne ASC took up residence. Opened in July 2024, the club located in Saint-Martin-Osmonville was inaugurated in September by the four instructors: Talen Barray, Marie Laure Münster, Sandrine Clermont and Stéphanie Meslin.

United by their passion, not their profession, the four volunteer instructorsqualified as first-degree dog trainers, meet every Saturday to give dog training classes.

“We are not trained for major character problems, but in these specific cases, we refer to professionals we know”specifies Stéphanie Meslin.

Training, relaxation, sharing

If the instructors decided to create their association, it is to welcome owners, with their animals, in conditions that correspond to them.

“We want to help each owner manage their dog, educate the animal while respecting it. »

Every Saturday morning, around ten people attend education classes where the dog is put into everyday situations so that the animal and its master learn to manage.

Then, between two refreshments in the river, the instructors offer an introduction to agility, agility courses.

“It’s comfort after the effort, the dogs play, let off steam while remaining obedient,” describes the instructor.

The association now has around twenty members who can book their session using a card of 5 or 10 sessions, costing €50 and €90 respectively. To which must be added the €35 annual contribution.

Competitions planned

Saturday afternoon is devoted to advanced lessons, in preparation for agility competitions. The association also plans to organize one in the future, when its affiliation with the central canine society is validated.

As a first step, it is organizing an “agility pass” in 2025, aimed at testing whether the dog is ready for competitions. Other projects are underway such as the search for sponsors, the installation of exterior lighting, or even the construction of a bar to welcome members, and remain in this friendly spirit of exchange and sharing.
