A new project with more than just football

A new project with more than just football
From November, Sportbedrijf Lelystad will start a new program called Street League Lelystad. It is a football program intended for children from groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary education and which runs from November 2024 to June 2025. But the program is more than just football.

Extra points
The program involves competition, training, workshops and events, but there is more. This way you can also do something good for the neighborhood, which means you can earn many points for the rankings.

It is true that without good behavior and effort inside and outside the lines, a high final ranking cannot be achieved. Participants wear a Street League Lelystad T-shirt at all activities, which can be kept after good behavior and full participation.

Successful football project
According to Sportbedrijf Lelystad, Street League is a successful football project organized by various ‘Paid Football Organizations’ in the Netherlands. Sports company Lelystad sees the opportunity to make the project in Lelystad a success, together with partners.

This is partly because football is the most popular sport among youth, which is reflected in the participation figures at the clubs. But Street League Lelystad is much more than just football. A contribution is made to the development of youth.

Do good for the environment
The intention is to make participants aware of how important it is to do something good for themselves and the immediate environment. This way you can organize a games afternoon or a small tournament.

Participants can also earn points by doing chores such as washing cars or cleaning. This allows them to develop skills that will only benefit them for the rest of their lives.

The football matches are held on local squares and fields in the neighborhood. Professional training can be followed here and matches are played. One event is organized in the meantime and the conclusion is a real final day.

Collaborating partners
Street League Lelystad is organized in collaboration with De La Fuente Academy and Youth for Christ. The parties supervise the training sessions, competitions and help organize and implement the events.

The promotion is also supported by SV Lelystad ’67, which also has a facilitating function with a field for weekly training. In addition, the program is made possible by a number of parties.

These parties are GGD Flevoland, municipality of Lelystad, Sports and Vitality Agreement, Life Goals Foundation, law firm Okkerse & Schop, fresh focus, Toomba, VSBfonds, Rabobank Het Nieuwe Land, Sportservice Flevoland and Sportbedrijf Lelystad.
Participation in Street League Lelystad is completely free. In addition, more information about the program can be found on the Street League Lelystad page. You can also register for the program on the page.
