The (difficult) quest for the successor to <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/03/psg-bordeaux-messi-and-neymar-booed-boycott-of-the-cup-icy-atmosphere-at-the-parc-des-princes/" title="PSG-Bordeaux: Messi and Neymar booed, boycott of the CUP … icy atmosphere at the Parc des Princes“>Michel Montana, the legendary former announcer of the Parc des Princes, who left at the end of last season, continues at PSG. After handing over the microphone to host Miguel Derennes during the first four matches played at home and then to Hervé Koller during the Strasbourg and PSV Eindhoven receptions, the capital club will, according to our information, test a third voice in the days to come.
This Saturday, for the arrival of Racing Club de Lens in Ligue 1, and Wednesday in the Champions League during the clash against Atlético de Madrid, it is the artist Jean-Luc Guizonne who will be in charge of animating these two meetings. Aged 45, Guizonne is a regular at the microphones since he made himself known to the general public in 2005 by participating in Star Academy 5 before joining the troupe of the musical “The Lion King” abroad and in France for many years. His stage experience, his voice and his stature notably encouraged the PSG teams to retain his profile.
A final decision will be made in early 2025
A big fan of the capital’s club, the singer will have the opportunity to show his qualities during these two evenings and to ignite a Parisian public very attentive to the identity of the successor to Michel Montana, who held the position from 1998 to June 2024. The capital club is aware of this and does not want to rush in any way before choosing its starting speaker. “It’s an important subject and we really want to take the time to manage this issue as intelligently as possible,” we say internally.
After the next international break, other personalities will be tried on the microphone during the various matches played at the Parc des Princes at the end of 2024 (there are three remaining). After having judged the various services, an in-depth reflection will then be carried out and a final choice is expected at the start of 2025. On this question, the capital club remains particularly attentive to the feedback provided by regulars at the Parc des Princes who were able to express their doubts or their disappointment, it depends, as for the speakers chosen since the start of the season.
Miguel Derennes had experienced some small adaptation problems during his first steps, but he ended up getting his bearings over the minutes spent on the lawn of the Parc des Princes. Less experienced in the exercise, his successor Hervé Koller made himself known in 2016 after winning the “Speaker for an evening” operation which offered a supporter the opportunity to host a PSG meeting. The name of this fan of Javier Pastore – to whom he had dedicated a song in 2011 – therefore appeared in the small papers of the club wishing to see him again at work a few years later. The experience received a mixed reception from certain subscribers who will still have to wait before becoming definitively familiar with the new voice of the Park.
