Beauvais is once again in shock after a violent attack which plunged its inhabitants into fear. A 17-year-old young man was brutally targeted by an enraged crowd on Monday, October 14, in the Argentine district. This act of violence raises concerns about the escalation of street conflicts in the region.

A neighborhood marked by violence

The Argentine district, known for its recurring tensions, was the scene of a new episode of extreme violence. Rightly, this attack is reminiscent of a similar incident which took place only a month earlier in the Saint-Jean district. That evening, the young man was found injured and bloodied on a playground on avenue Jean-Moulin, around 10 p.m.

Course of the attack

According to various sources, around twenty people attacked the victim, using incredible brutality. According to prosecutor Frédéric Trinh, contacted by Actu Oise, the teenager was urgently taken to Beauvais hospital. Although his injuries are serious, his life prognosis is fortunately not serious, which brings some slight relief to the community.

Justice takes over the case

Faced with the seriousness of this attack, the Beauvais public prosecutor’s office quickly opened an investigation into attempted intentional homicide. Witnesses report that the attackers used a knife, a baseball bat and tear gas against the victim. Law enforcement is working hard to identify those responsible for this savage act and bring them to justice.

Frédéric Trinh, public prosecutor of Beauvais, confirmed the determination of the authorities to shed light on this worrying matter. THE investigations are currently underway and any information that could lead to the identification of the attackers is actively sought.
