Mourning in the world of football. Abdelaziz Barrada, former player for Getafe and Olympique de Marseille, among other teams, has died at the age of 35. The young athlete, who had to abandon professional football in 2021, has died from a heart attack.
The former Moroccan international signed in July 2007 for Paris Saint-Germain for their youth teams and joined Getafe’s B reserve team four years later.
With the blue team, he scored eight goals and gave nine assists in his 64 games in the Spanish LaLiga. In the summer of 2013, the Moroccan attacker completed his signing for Al-Jazira and a season later he landed at Olympique de Marseille.
The Getafe CF family is shocked by the death of the azulón Abdel Barrada.
The footballer played 66 games and scored 4 goals for Getafe in the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons.

Throughout his career as a professional player, which ended in the summer of 2021, Barrada wore the Gimnàstic de Tarragona shirt on loan during the second half of the 2018/19 season.
Getafe has published a message regretting the death of the former footballer. «Our memory and support at this time goes to Abdel’s family and friends. RIP,” the club wrote on social networks.

Olympique de Marseille has also left a message on X. «Olympique de Marseille regretted the news of the death of its former player and Moroccan international, Abdelaziz Barrada. Arrived in the summer of 2014, the attacking midfielder wore the colors of OM for 2 seasons. The club wants to offer its deepest condolences to his family and share the pain of those closest to him,” the French club said.
