There seems to be no end in sight to Jimmy Thelin’s incredible start at Aberdeen.
Before Wednesday’s meeting with Rangers, the team had 15 games without a loss, of which only one was a cross.
Now the undefeated streak has been extended. Aberdeen won 2-1 and now have 15 wins and a draw in 16 games.
The Swede is praised for his achievement.
“Jimmy Thelin has truly brought a touch of Midas to Pittodrie (Aberdeen’s home arena, ed. note),” writes the BBC’s Tyrone Smith, referring to the legend that everything King Midas touched turned to gold.
He continues:
“He has shaped a team that has found countless ways to win games, which is a fantastic quality to have. The astonishing streak continues as his ‘Dons’ continue to overcome every obstacle that is thrown their way”.
Despite their streak, Aberdeen is “only” second in the Scottish top flight. The team, just like Celtic, has recorded 28 points, but the green and white Glasgow club has a better goal difference.
