“ADIDAS BASKETBALL” is reprinting former professional basketball player KAREEEM ABDUL JABBAR’s signature shoe “JABBAR” and will be releasing it on October 18th. It will be sold through the CONFIRMED app, adidas directly managed stores, and other stores that carry it.
“Jabbar” comes from a professional basketball player who played in the American Professional Basketball League (NBA) for 20 years. Since its debut in 1978 as Adidas’ first basketball shoe featuring an athlete’s face, it has gained popularity as a masterpiece of the brand.
The reprint version of the “Jabbar” comes in two types: low-cut (14,300 yen) and high-cut (15,400 yen), faithfully reproducing the original color and details. The smooth leather upper features a suede toe cap, and the lining is made of soft leather. In addition, a picture of Jabbar performing his trademark shooting technique, the “skyhook”, is placed on the tongue along with the Adidas “Trefoil” logo. While emphasizing functionality, we presented the uniqueness of “Jabber” in a new form.
