Next week there will once again be world-class tennis at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Fans from home and abroad can experience the “Official Tennis Experience” in Studio F of the Wiener Stadthalle beforehand. Visitors can look forward to an exciting journey through time of the last 50 years of tennis in Vienna with exclusive exhibits as well as a look into the future of the sport VR experiences.

Historic trophies, historic tennis rackets, iconic clothing, emotional memories, exclusive photos and videos. The “Official Tennis Experience” offers all this and much more. The exhibition takes place as part of the Erste Bank Open, but you don’t need an entry ticket for the tournament to get in.

Well-known players from the 50-year history of the tournament have provided exhibits; pieces from Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to Jannik Sinner can be seen. The focus is also on Dominic Thiem, who will end his career in Vienna and who had a decisive influence on the tournament, not only because of his tournament victory five years ago.

Sample trophies will be auctioned

One of the big highlights of the campaign as part of “Champions of Vienna” are the trophies from Thomas Muster, which will be exhibited for the first time and at the same time auctioned off for a good cause. “There are so many people who actually took part in the television back then, who stayed up all night long, watched tennis and were thrilled. And I thought to myself, there are certainly people who might want to have a part of this tennis history at home or in their company,” said Muster, explaining his decision.

In the “Official Tennis Experience” you can not only admire Muster’s trophies, but also look at the past 50 years of tennis in Vienna. “There are a lot of other things there, everything has been beautifully prepared. It was definitely a lot of work to put everything together and prepare it. I was a player in the town hall in the 80s and 90s and then played my last match against Dominic. It’s crazy how things have developed. “You can experience this journey through time here, it’s unique,” says Muster enthusiastically.

Highlights for families

The “Official Tennis Experience” is not only interesting for tennis fans: there is also a lot to experience for families, the exhibition appeals to young (VR experiences, merchandise, adventure area) and old (historical rackets, photos & videos, muster trophies). ) equally. The “Official Tennis Experience” is still open until November 3rd.

Erste Bank Open tournament director Herwig Straka can highly recommend a visit: “It has been important to us for a long time to look into the past because so many things have accumulated. With the 50th anniversary there was the perfect opportunity to launch various initiatives to start – the first is the Official Tennis Experience. We look back with special exhibits and at the same time build a bridge to the present and the future. When you walk through the exhibition, your heart opens We look forward to many visitors in the next few weeks.”
