On Sunday 20 October, around 100 candidates tested themselves in the practical tests scheduled by FIJLKAM (Italian Judo, Wrestling, Karate and Martial Arts Federation), in front of a commission of masters and in the presence of the National Federal Councilor Cinzia Colaiacomo, of the President of FIJLKAM Calabria Enzo Migliarese, the Regional President of the Karate sector Gerardo Gemelli and the Single Administrative Contact Dr. Viola Zangara.

Antonio Esposito, athlete of the Crotone Karate Academy, with a highly respectable competitive past, was finally able to undertake and continue his journey, preparing adequately for these exams.

In front of the examining commission, composed of the masters Luciano Dichiera (Regional Technical Commissioner), Francesco Bellino (Technical Center Manager), Gianpiero Costabile, Giuseppe Lafauci, Pino Giordano, Enrico De Pace, Mario Amendola (CTR Technical Collaborators), Antonio Esposito presented the program by performing the Kihon style, considered a fundamental formal exercise. Afterwards, he presented the Kata, which is a traditional form that highlights the characteristics of the style practiced. In this specific case, the style was Goju Ryu and he completed the first part with the Bunkai, where he highlighted some specific defense and attack actions presented in the Kata.

The last phase was Kumite, during which, after performing some exercises that were part of the specific technical learning, called Oppositional Interactions, he performed a controlled contact fight. The commission’s opinion was positive, with the awarding of suitability and an excellent score.

The AKC technicians, the masters Rosario Stefanizzi (Kumite) and Luigi Galea (Kata), are satisfied with the goal achieved by the athlete Antonio Esposito, who achieved one more degree, namely the 2nd Dan in the prestigious black belt .
