Alcaraz: schedule and where to watch the semifinals of the Six Kings Slam 2024 tennis

Rafa Nadal y Carlos Alcaraz They will meet in the semifinals of the Six Kings Slam 2024. It will be Nadal’s first match since he announced his retirement at the end of the season, and perhaps the last in which the two Spanish tennis stars face each other.

Alcaraz sealed his place in the semifinals of the exhibition tournament after defeating the Dane Holger Rune for a comfortable 6-4 and 6-2. Nadal, as a legend, expected as Novak Djokovic in the semi-final.

“I have watched his matches since I started playing tennis. I admire him, I have grown up watching him play. He was my idol. He is still my idol,” Alcaraz declared after his match against Rune.

“It’s a shame that he’s retiring. He’s a very important person in my life. In my career. He’s one of the reasons why I wanted to become a professional tennis player. Knowing that he’s going to retire is very hard.”

“It’s a privilege to play against him once again. I’ll try to enjoy sharing the court with him once again, but I think it will be tough for everyone.”

It will be the fifth match between Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, although they also formed a doubles pair in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. They have met three times on the ATP circuit and a few months ago they played another exhibition match in Las Vegas.

The match will be played in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) this Thursday, October 17 in the second round, after the other semifinal match that will pit Djokovic against Jannik Sinner. The Italian, world number one, surpassed Daniil Medvedev by 6-0 and 6-3.
