Sonoran archer Alejandra Valencia will see action for the eighth time in an Archery World Cup Final stage, when this weekend (Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th) she shoots her arrows in the 2024 edition based in Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala.

It will be the return to action of the double Olympic medalist, after last July she won her second medal in the Olympic Games, in Paris 2024, after being part of the Mexican women’s recurve bow team (along with Ana Paula Vázquez and Ángela Ruiz ).

Likewise, Valencia Trujillo, who currently occupies third place in the world ranking, will try to continue the positive streak in the Archery World Cup Finals, since in the last appearance in that competition, in Sonora 2023, he won silver. after finishing in second position with the support of thousands of Sonorans.

Mexico, in the history of this event, has accumulated a dozen medals (two gold, five silver and three bronze), two of them from Valencia Trujillo, as it also won silver in Mexico City 2013, in the Mixed Pair category. with Luis Álvarez.

As if that were not enough, Alejandra Valencia will increase her number of participations to eight in World Cup Finals, a current record for Mexicans, by competing in Tlaxcala as part of the Aztec team that will have six members. In total there will be the 32 best archers on the planet (16 recurve and 16 compound).

The other participants from this country are: Ángela Ruiz and Matías Grande, recurve bow; Maya Becerra, Dafne Quintero and Sebastián García, of compound. The draw, to define the crosses, will be held this Thursday and the field reconnaissance will take place on Friday.
