Like the basketball legend with his son, there are several cases of two generations that shared the court in the world of sports.
This Tuesday the NBA and one of the matches that will open the season is the Los Angeles Lakers who will face the Timberwolves with the hope of starting the competition on the right foot guided by their star player LeBron Jameswho will also share the court with his son Bronny James.
This case is not the only one of two generations that play together on the same team professionally, as there are other select athletes who also did it. I know some.
Bronny James is 20 years old and after his average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.4 per game during his only season with University or Southern California (USC)the Lakers set their sights on him and he was chosen as pick 25 during the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
He had joined the Trojans mid-season because he spent five months away from the sport to recover from a cardiac arrest requiring surgery for a birth defect. Now, with the bad health moment over and medical authorization, he will share the court with his father, a historic moment as it is the first case in the American basketball league.

In football they were the Brazilian Rivaldo y Rivaldinho who played together in the now defunct Mogi Mirim of São Paulo for 2014 Paulista Championshipsecond division of Brazil. The star was 41 years old at that time and his son was 18.
They also did Arnor yy Eidur Gudjohnsen for the Iceland national team in 1996 during a match against Estonia. Arnor, who at that time was 34 years old, was part of the starting eleven and was replaced by 17-year-old Eidur in the second half. The same thing happened in Mexico in 2013 when a change occurred and he left Fernando Arce (33) to make room for his son Fernando David Arce (17).
On the other hand, another of the pairs that are added to the list are Ken Griffey y Ken Griffey Jr.who shared the box office with the Seattle Mariners in the Major League Baseball (MLB) during 1990. The father, 40 years old, was thinking about retirement, but decided to renew to be with his descendant. They also became the first and only ones to hit consecutive home runs.
The NFL It has another case that occurred several years ago. On September 25, 1921, Charlie Nesser (38) y Ted Nesser (19) defended the Columbus Panhandles jersey against the Akron Pros, being the only occasion that happened in American football.
