Trnava’s first quick goal broke us a little, but the boys were able to cope with it. Our tactic was to play in a deep block,” said MFK Bytča coach Stanislav Lojdl.

I already believed that we would finish 2-0 at halftime because we had five substitutions ready. We wanted to give young guys a chance as well. But there was a weak organization at the set piece, maybe a little underestimation of the situation,” he said.

Bytča held a goal deficit for a long time

“I think we were absolutely in control of the second half. Even though Bytča played in a well-organized way, she fell out of shape and didn’t cause us any problems offensively. In the end, more comforting goals followed and a relatively smooth victory. The home team took it easy, they went into spasms, this is what cup matches look like,” Gašparík praised the fighting spirit of his opponent.
During the halftime break, coach Bytče Lojdl warned his players to stay focused. “We played what we had to. If we opened it, it would probably end up with a higher difference. Maybe if the score had been 1:2 even longer, we would have taken a breather in the end and tried to equalize.
I don’t think we ran out of steam in the second half. We switched because two players were already having cramps. At that time, it seemed to me that our interplay broke down a bit. Perhaps that was also a key moment.
However, I must say that we finished the match with dignity and did not embarrass ourselves. We are also happy that we sold out the stadium, which Bytča has not been able to do for a long time,” he praised the attendance, which was 1,920 paying spectators.

A match he will never forget. At the end of the first half, 20-year-old Matej Pavlík managed to open the net of a participant of the highest competition. He beat the goalkeeper Vantruba after a bounced ball from a standard situation.
“I’m glad I got there. I found a rebound, tried it and it worked. A goal against such an opponent is definitely pleasing,” said Pavlík after the match.
In the 68th minute, he gave up his place on the pitch to Alex Mičienko. “We prepared mentally and physically for the match in order to be in the best possible shape. In terms of fitness, I was still in control, but then the cramps came. It’s not fun to play under the ball all the time and chase the opponent,” he added.
Bytča held an acceptable result for a long time, eventually losing by three goals. “A 1:2 result would be nicer. It’s a shame, in the end we could still score one goal. Anyway, it was a great experience for all of us, especially in front of such a backdrop. The fans were great. It was great. I am glad that they came in such numbers,” he added.

But we saw league quality. I think we have nothing to be ashamed of. We held a one-goal deficit for a long time, which is nice. The cup fairy tale ends for us,” he evaluated the match.
After the change of sides, Bytča lost to the favorite by only one goal. She tried to wait for breaks from which she would be able to equalize. However, such an opportunity did not come to her.
“Fights with stoppers were difficult, at least two levels higher than the fourth league. I think we didn’t lose ourselves in the match. We fought and left everything on the field,” added Hundák.
