None of this would have happened, however, without backup hitter Jhonkensy Noel’s two-run long ball after two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The heroics of Noel and Fry allowed the Guardians to reduce the gap to 2-1 in this American championship series.

The Guardians led 3-1 in the eighth inning when Aaron Judge hit a two-run home run off star shortstop Emanuel Clase. Giancarlo Stanton followed with a solo slap to give the Yankees the lead.

With the Guardians trailing 5-3 and one out from facing elimination, Lane Thomas hit a double off Luke Weaver in the ninth inning. Noel sowed euphoria with a resounding home run to the left.

In 10e inning, Bo Naylor singled against Clay Holmes. Brayan Rocchio dropped a sacrifice bunt and Naylor went to third base after an arrow to the mound.

Fry, who had hit a crucial homer for the Guardians in the sectional series against the Detroit Tigers, catapulted Weaver’s shot into the left field stands.

Fry celebrated with his teammates while fans at Progressive Field did the same.

The Guardians will be able to tie the game on Friday, when the fourth clash will once again take place in Cleveland.
