An honor for new Sports Hall of Fame inductees

The Mauricie Sports Hall of Fame (TRSM) has four new inductees. Mark Beggs (para-cycling), Marie-Ève ​​Nault (soccer), Jacques Moffatt (manager and administrator) and Luc Briand (judo official) have all left their mark on the world of sport in Mauricie in their own way.

It was the head of sport at the Canadian Olympic Committee, Éric Myles, who assumed the honorary presidency of the event and who carried out the induction of the chosen personalities.

For each of the inductees, the recognition of their work and accomplishments means a lot.

Mark Beggs, the first Canadian to participate in the Paralympic Games in hand cycling in 2004 in Athens, says that for him it was the full circle of his entire career.

Feats immortalized

Jacques Moffatt, for his part, has had a long and prolific career for student sport in the region.

He began by setting up several intercollegiate sports programs in 1969, before assuming the role of general director of the Quebec Student Sports Network and chairing its board of directors until 2016.

He confides that the favorite moment of his career was his first years spent with the Diablos of Cégep de Trois-Rivières.
