At only 18 years old, Angela Ruiz Rosales has become the new winner of the Coahuila State Sports Award 2024consolidating itself as one of the most important promises of Mexican archery. The young archer, originally from Saltillohas not only captured the attention of his home state, but of the entire nation, thanks to his outstanding career and his recent achievement in the Paris 2024 Olympic Gameswhere she won the bronze medal in the women’s team category.

Angelawho is in her second year as a senior team, has shown that the future of archery in Mexico is in good hands. After her Olympic debut, the Coahuila native has followed in the footsteps of iconic figures such as Alejandra Valenciapositioning herself as one of the most outstanding athletes on the national scene. Although his start in the sport was not with the bow in hand, Angela She found her true passion in archery, a path that would lead her to become a high-performance athlete.

In an interview with Government of Mexico, Angela He recalled how his sports career began in artistic gymnastics when he was just four years old. However, seeing no more progress and fearing possible injuries, he decided to explore other disciplines. The real turn in his career came in 2021, when he participated in his first National Olympiad, where he obtained first place in the selective for the Youth World Cup. In 2023, as part of the senior team, he began to achieve great success, including a team gold medal with Alejandra Valencia and Aida Román in the World Cup.
