Andthewinneris (Oscar Performance) came from last place with a powerful run and in the final meters went on to win the Knickerbocker Stakes G3T ($175,000), a 1 ⅛ mile race for horses three years or older held at Aqueduct as part of the Belmont Park fall held there. Dylan Davis was in charge of driving Chad Brown’s pupil, who achieved the first two places with his presentations.
Priced 5-1 in the betting, Knickerbocker was last in the initial stretch of the competition while his four rivals were led by Siege of Boston (War Front), who led the way in splits of 23.56 (¼ mile), 47.78 (½ mile) and 1:11.20 (¾ mile), maintaining a one-length advantage over Fort Washington (War Front), which in turn had a one-length advantage over Redistricting (GB) (Kingman (GB)) and Reckoning Force (Air Force Blue).

The leader tried to combine start and finish, maintaining the lead in the far corner and entering the final stretch with a small margin in his favor. However, Brown’s two pupils began their advance, with Redistricting first passing alongside Reckoning Force, and then Andthewinneris finishing with greater force. After a record of 1:34.40 for the mile, the son of Oscar Performance caught up on time and took his neck over Redistricting, who in the photo maintained second position over Reckoning Force. Fort Washington finished fourth, beating a depleted Siege of Boston, which completed the finishing order. The final time was 1:46.15 with a finish of 11.75 in the last furlong.
In this way Andthewinneris ended a string of six defeats, achieving its fourth victory in 14 performances. The grandson of Scat Daddy raised his earnings to $507,293, defending the colors of his breeder, Susan Moulton.
