Anthony Edwards: “If I win the NBA title, I’ll go play football”

Anthony Edwadrs has often spoken of his great passion for football. In college he practiced both, then he chose to take the professional path to enter the NBA, becoming the star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he made a promise.

If he wins the title with his team, Edwards could leave basketball to become a professional football player as well. Yes, he remembers someone, whose initials are MJ, who left the league in 1994 to play golf.

If I win the ring in the next 3/4 years, then I’ll go play football

And don’t take it as a joke. Ant-Man is serious and it should be considered as such. He continued this in the ESPN interview.

Football players aren’t capable of switching to basketball, but I think I’m capable of switching sports

Ductility is a key feature of Edwards. We know him as a player capable of scoring a ton of points in the NBA, of jumping over his opponents and – as seen in this pre-season – of also being a very good defender.

He also takes it beyond basketball. His competitive spirit also wants to occupy him in different disciplines: at the Olympics he challenged the women’s table tennis team, now the goal is to win the NBA title so he can go and play football.

The first big challenge will be to guarantee the Timberwolves (here the guide) of continue to be a contender even after the trade of Karl-Anthony Towns, which strengthened the Knicks and left doubts about the strength of the T’Wolves. Edwards now holds the keys to the team.
