Lorenzo Gubbini is the new Italian under 23 compound champion. The athlete of the Archers City of Terni won the gold medal at the 2024 Italian Campaign Championships scheduled in Schilpario in the province of Bergamo.
“I am very satisfied. This was an unexpected result given that this is not my specialty – comments Gubbini fresh from the title –. I don’t know if I will do other races of this type although with the Italian title I have just won, why not? We’ll think about it later.”
On the other hand, Gubbini’s agenda is still full. Next week the Italian Targa Championship is scheduled in Camaiore (5-8 September). An appointment to which he arrives with only one idea in mind: “I’m aiming for the title”. On the other hand, for him it would be “the best way to end an outdoor season which has given me many satisfactions such as second place at the European Championship and the Italian record I brought home. In short, now the icing on the cake is missing.”
The president of the City of Terni Archers is satisfied Stefano Tombesi: “the under 21 title won by Lorenzo (Gubbini ed.) made all of us proud of him once again. Now let’s focus on the Italians. We will also be present as a team and obviously, we will aim to do well.”
