AS Roma has its own 5-a-side football team. The Giallorossi club has announced the birth of the futsal selection, in synergy with the historic Olimpus Roma, to which the Friedkins have chosen to grant their colors and brand.

With this move, AS Roma has become the only Serie A team to be present in the top five-a-side football series. “AS Roma now also has its official five-a-side football team” – reads the official note of the Giallorossi club – “welcoming OIimpus Roma, an elite futsal club in the capital and in Italy, into its family. From Serie A to the five-a-side football school, with all its categories, for twenty-five years Olimpus Roma has given great importance to the development of sport at high levels, to the training of young people and to the implementation of solidarity projects. AS Roma has therefore chosen to grant its colors and brand to a model 5-a-side football club, which will continue to enjoy full autonomy in administrative and sporting management. Olimpus Roma then became ASD Roma 1927 Futsal, a company that has the qualification of “AS Roma 5-a-side football team” for all official category competitions. The commitment of the Giallorossi Club in the world of futsal represents once again an innovative act.”

Olimpus Roma then becomes ASD Roma 1927 Futsal. Founded on 9 September 1999 by Andrea Verde, the team landed in the top Italian 5-a-side football championship in 2021. In the 2023/24 season, the futsal team played in the Italian Super Cup, was a finalist in the Italian Cup and won, with five rounds to spare, the regular season. Excellent results also in the youth teams with the national Under 19 team reigning champions of the Scudetto and the Italian Cup.
ASD Roma 1927 Futsal will play its home matches at PalaOlgiata (via Guido Cantini 4). The home debut is scheduled for Friday 18 October at 7pm to start the regular season.
