The Organizing Committee of the <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2024/04/special-olympics-el-salvador-announces-delegation-for-iv-latin-american-games-asuncion-2024/" title="Special Olympics El Salvador Announces Delegation for IV Latin American Games Asunción 2024“>IV Latin American Games of Special Olympics Asunción 2024 celebrated that more than 25,000 people have already entered the different sports parks where the competitions take place. Of this number, 5,000 were schoolchildren who were able to live the experience as Fans in the stands.
Asunción continues to vibrate and encourage the athletes of the IV Latin American Games of the Special Olympics. The competitions brought together more than 1,000 athletes from 20 countries and about 2,000 volunteers. In addition to the 20 countries that make up the Latin American continent, the event has athletes from Spain, Belgium and Germany as guests.
After 6 days of intense competitions in the three host sports parks: the SND Complex, the National Aquatic Center and the Paraguayan Olympic Park, the Guaraní delegation has stood out, managing to get on the podium in most of the disciplines and enabled categories. At the end of Thursday, Team Paraguay already had the extraordinary number of 113 medals.
The IV Games are not only limited to the exhibition of physical skills, but are a showcase to the entire world of determination and unity of our athletes. With 13 sports and 14 modalities and one exhibition sport, every moment was designed to captivate and inspire.
The disciplines in competition during the Asunción 2024 Games are: Athletics, Basketball (3×3) Unified, Badminton, Bocce, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Rhythmic/Artistic Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Swimming, Futsal, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Hockey and 1 Exhibition Sport: Taekwondo.
