Atlético‘s main name in the 3-0 defeat of River Plate-ARG, this Tuesday (22), striker Deyverson made a kind of “request” to Argentine coach Gabriel Milito. The center forward showed support for a long streak for the black and white coach, who completed 50 games at the club.
“Our team is competitive, Milito always gives us that. For us to compete, fight, and we’ve been doing that, it’s been working. As he (Milito) said, for things to work out for him to stay here for another 50 games or much more”, said Deyverson, in a post-game interview.
“We have to compete, we have to do our best. Things have been happening, the Rooster is that, the Rooster is will, the Rooster is determination and until the minute we will do our best. If you can’t give your best, a teammate comes in who will give his best here too”, added the number 9.
The return of the semi will be next Tuesday (29), at 9:30 pm, at Mâs Monumental, in Buenos Aires. Any other result favors Rooster.
Before, at 7pm on Saturday (26th), Galo will host Internacional at Arena MRV, for the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship. The tendency is for Atlético to save starters.

The Argentine arrived at Atlético in March this year, replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari. Milito has 23 wins, 16 draws and 11 defeats, with 78 goals scored and 58 conceded.
Milito was Minas Gerais champion with Galo, is in the semi-finals of the Libertadores and is a finalist in the Copa do Brasil. Atlético is also ninth in the Brasileirão, with 41 points in 29 games.
The coach has a contract with Atlético until the end of the 2025 season. Milito’s last job was with Argentinos Juniors-ARG, from 2021 to 2023.
