From Frankfurt where he will participate in a new stage of the UTS (Ultimate Tennis Showdown, the exhibition created by Patrick Mouratoglou), Gaël Monfils reacted to Tennis Majors at the announcement of his friend Richard Gasquet, who will retire after Roland‐Garros in 2025.

“Richard is someone I have known since I was little, we are a group of friends with Jo (Tsonga), Gilles (Simon) and Richard (Gasquet). We were used to being together all the time. When Gilles and Jo left, it left a void, and with Richard’s departure, it will be a big void. I’m sad. Richard is an exceptional person, someone who meant so much to me as a friend, as an advisor, he gave me so much. He is a great champion with an immense career. He was very important in my life. It’s not easy to tell myself that it’s almost over and that I’m going to continue on my own. »
