ATP Masters in Paris: Struff continues after victory against Zverev-Schreck

Tennis professional <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/australian-open-draw-german-duel-for-alexander-zverev-huge-task-for-andrea-petkovic/" title="Australian Open – draw: German duel for Alexander Zverev, huge task for Andrea Petkovic”>Jan-Lennard Struff has reached the second round of the ATP Masters in Paris.

The 34-year-old from Warstein defeated Olympic bronze medalist Lorenzo Musetti 6:4, 6:2 at the start. The world number 16. from Italy had eliminated Alexander Zverev at the tournament in Vienna the previous week, as he did at this year’s Olympic Games.

Struff against Fils or Cilic

Now Struff, number 42 in the world, will face the winner of the duel between local hero Arthur Fils and Marin Cilic (Croatia). Another win could lead to a German duel with Zverev in the round of 16. The Hamburger has a bye in the first round in the French capital.

The first opponent for the Tokyo Olympic champion in round two on Wednesday is the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor. Last week in the Austrian capital, Struff failed in three sets against his opening hurdle Alex de Minaur (Australia).
