Seit 1970 werden jährlich die Swiss Indoors Basel in der Schweiz veranstaltet. Der Wettbewerb findet im Rahmen der ATP Tour 500 statt. Jährlich lockt das Turnier einige der besten Tennisspieler der Welt nach Basel. So finden sich auch in diesem Jahr einige Spieler aus den Top 10 der Weltrangliste auf der Teilnehmerliste wieder. In den vergangenen zwei Jahren gewann jeweils der Kanadier Felix Auger-Aliassime die Swiss Indoors Basel.
